Electronic tax filing system was launched, and the companies are expected to start using it by January of next year. It will function in the realms of Public Revenue Office (PRO) and it has been announced that top 100 Macedonian companies are going to use it.

The e-Tax application is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and will be designed by Seavus, a Macedonian software developer.

“The e-Tax Services application represents a huge step towards creating an efficient and transparent system for tax collection in Macedonia,” said Ms. Petra Miteva, Director of PRO.

This application is expected to reduce the administrative burden for both taxpayers and the PRO as well as to be able to process an enormous amount of data quickly and securely. The software development is a result of USAID’s e-Government Project, which aims to increase the efficiency of public sector and to open new opportunities for business activities.
