The upcoming forum to take place on 19 to 20 Nov., aims to discuss the need for a public private peoples partnership approach to ensure that the right frameworks and incentives are put in place to achieve affordable broadband connectivity in the Caribbean island states.
The CTO conference promises to assemble high-level public and private sector officials including ministers and regulators to deliberate on a number of vital connectivity and industry issues such as government policies for promoting broadband, how broadband enhances e-governance, technological challenges and opportunities for private sector organisations, among others.
In a brief statement CTO’s Director of Programmes and Business Development, Bashir Patel said as an organisation the CTO is committed to its mandate of promoting information and communications technologies and ensuring total access through its knowledge-sharing events as a key operational area.
He is of the view that deliberations at the conference will help strengthen stakeholder collaboration on broadband policy and operations in the Caribbean.
Patel called on industry stakeholders to take advantage of the platform created by the CTO to discuss best practices and brainstorm on strategies for the future of broadband access in the region.
