CareerNET, Fiji's first online job searching website has been launched.

The website was developed for the Ministry of Youth by Connect Interactive under the ITC Services e-Government Program, funded by the Asian Development Bank. It is a job-search website for youths to search for jobs, build CV's and apply for jobs online, and for employers to post their jobs on and search for potential employees.

For more information, or to register your details or job vacancies, go to www.careernet.com.fj

Pauline Chia, an AusAID Australian Youth Ambassador for Development (AYAD) volunteer, began working on 'ICT for development' projects at ITC Services in the Fiji Government in March.

She travelled to all three National Youth Week Expo's promoting this cutting-edge initiative that bridges the digital divide to bring employers and employees closer together.

Pauline is now working on an "Internet Libraries for School children project".

This project aims to give students across Fiji the opportunity to learn how to use the Internet in a safe and learning-conducive environment.

She is currently searching for passionate youth volunteers who want to make a difference and help to empower and improve the lives of those around them.

The AYAD Programme aims to strengthen mutual understanding between Australia and the countries of the Asia Pacific and make a positive contribution to development.
