The government has devised guidelines that will help proper usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in public offices.

Addressing reporters in Dar es Salaam, the Director of ICT Management Services, E-Government Agency, Mr Benedict Ndomba, said that the guidelines would be used in planning, designing and managing various systems of ICT.

“E-Government agency has prepared guidelines that provide instruction and clarification of procedures that should be followed in the implementation of various efforts relating to ICT in public institutions,” he said.

He said that the aim of e-Government standards and guidelines is to enable public institutions to create systems that match with the need of institutions.

He reported that by using such principles and standards the government will be able to do away with unnecessary duplication while reducing cost of managing public offices.
