The Government has launched five executive agencies that will focus on Information Technology and livestock development.

Launching the five executive agencies yesterday, the Chief Secretary Ambassador Ombeni Sifue said the objective of creating the agencies was to improve services given to the public and reduce workload on ministries.

The two executive agencies that will focus on technology are e-Government Agency (eGA) and Tanzania Global Learning Agency (TaGLA) which will be under the President’s Office (Publc Service Management).

He said Fisheries Education and Training Agency (FETA), Livestock Training Agency (LITA) and Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency (TVLA) will be under the ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Development. Ambassador Sifue said the agencies must conduct their duties efficiently and improve services given to the public.

“I believe the five agencies will join others already providing services to the public and improve efficiency by adhering to ethics,” he explained. Ambassador Sifue noted that among challenges facing agencies is low financial capacity.
