When properly used, she said, would enable them hire qualified people without favour. "I would like to request the secretariat to use this website wisely so as to avoid favouritism. Many people have been saying that unqualified employees get jobs at the expense of those with the required qualifications," said Ms Ghasia.
"We appreciate our government's efforts to champion use of ICT in increasing efficiency. A government network (e-government) under the President's Office for Public Services has been established, which is a good step," she noted.
The minister also advised the secretariat to use www.ajira.go.tz website as a platform for disseminating information to stakeholders, advertising jobs as well as announcing job interview results.
The Secretariat Chairman Mr Bakari Mahiza told the minister that the secretariat faced a lot of challenges including inadequate budget, limited job opportunities and poor publicity.
"In this short period of time, the secretariat has attained several achievements which give us hope of contributing to the development of our country," said Mr Mahiza.
According to Mr Xavier Daudi, who is the Secretary in the President's Office (Public Service Recruitment Secretariat), the website would go a long way in improving efficiency.
The secretary also noted that the main purpose of the website was to advertise employment opportunities in the public service.
"This website will enable us cut down the expenses which the secretariat may incur through advertising in different newspapers which is very expensive, however, we are going to use the media as well to advertise," he added.
