According to one of Bangladesh's leading think tanks, the country's current national portal is not comprehensive and not genuinely user-friendly in assisting users to access necessary information and services. The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) said the government needs to create a one-stop government portal that is designed to serve the specific needs of citizens and businesses.
"Though this is not a high-priority item for the present time, it will become an important issue in the next few years as an increasing number of e-government services go online and a single entry-point to various services becomes increasingly needed," said BEI President Farooq Sobhan.
