The ICT Ministry of Bangladesh has taken crucial steps to strengthen regulation of e-government services, ensuring quality of digital service delivery.

“We are going to introduce e-service regulations to ensure quality and standard electronic services in a disciplined way to the people against the backdrop of delivering of over 250 e-services in the public sector,” announced ICT Secretary, Md Nazrul Islam Khan.

The draft regulations titled ‘e-Service Regulations 2013’ are expected to be launched soon, reported local media.

The ICT Ministry will also set up an e-service authority to ensure implementation of the regulations and oversee quality of digital services delivered by public and private sectors, Khan added.

The e-Service Regulations empower the authority to permit competent government and private organisations to provide digital services based on the stated procedures. It will also have the authority to cancel or suspend services if the service provider fails to follow the stated procedure
