Use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) is being increased at the educational institutions for improving standard of education and teachers must be involved in the process to achieve the standard, they added, reports BSS.
The speakers said these at the seminar 'Doings of teachers in building digital Bangladesh' organised by the 24th BCS (general education) Forum at the auditorium of Shilpakala Academy.
Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Information Communication Technology (ICT) Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Director General of National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) Professor Sheikh Ikramul Kabir and Principal of Government Titumir College Prof Dr Dilara Hafiz, among others, spoke at the function chaired by President of the forum Bijoy Kumar Ghosh.
Md Nazrul Islam Khan said the government is introducing multimedia classroom in educational institutions of the country for improving the quality of education by bringing a significant change in teaching and learning system.
The role of teachers in the multimedia classroom system is very important as they prepare digital contents to impart education to the students, he added.
The government is introducing multimedia classrooms at 20,500 schools in the country, Education Secretary said adding, the multimedia classroom system should be introduced at higher education level also for improving quality of education.
