Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, the state-owned gas company, is going to introduce e-governance application in processing its new industrial connections by April this year.

An agreement was signed in this regard between Titas and Business Automation Ltd, a local software giant on Monday in the city.

Under the agreement, software developer Business Automation will develop an online application processing and tracking system for the industrial clients of Titas Gas upon completion of which there will be more transparency, accountability and efficiency in new gas connection system.

To ensure faster and smoother service for the industrial users of Titas Gas, Business Automation in partnership with local ICT service provider Access Telecom and regional IBM representative Thakral Information System Ltd will also set up an Intranet and Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity between the head office of Titas and its regional sales offices at Savar and Joydevpur.

SM Faruque, Secretary cum General Manager of Titas Gas, signed the groundbreaking deal on behalf of the state-owned gas transmission and distribution company while Jahidul Hassan Mitul, Executive Director of Business Automation, signed the agreement on behalf of the local software giant.

Among others, Managing Director Engineer Md. Abdullah, General Manager (Regional Distribution Department) Engineer Md. Kawsar Azizur Rahman, Deputy General Manger (Planning) Engineer Md. Atikuzzaman, Deputy General Manager (Purchase) MA Hassan of Titas Gas and Vice-Chairman M Hemayet Uddin, Director (Marketing and Administration) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, General Manager, Md Rezaul Karim of Business Automation were present.

Business Automation ahs already implemented a number of successful e-governance projects for the Board of Investment, BTTB Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Telephone Exchange, Land Ministry, Cabinet Division, ICB, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Department of Women Affairs, Bangladesh Ordnance Factory etc.

It has also provided with a number of corporate solutions for the multinationals including Standard Chartered Bank, Unilever Bangladesh, British-American Tobacco, GrameenPhone, Arla Foods, Banglalink etc, says a press release.
