Request a passport, birth or death certificates and access official documents online or receive goods bought online are the services Zimbabwe post (Zimpost) aims to offer residents in the coming years.

This shift from its traditional services of sending and receiving mails is aimed at preserving Zimpost from the bankruptcy which was looming over it with the development of ICT.

The new project steered by the IT minister via the Post Regulatory Agency (Potraz) is aimed at relaunching Zimpost’s attractiveness and improve the residents’ living conditions.

Millions of residents living in rural and remote areas can simply access various services through the post offices. There would be no need to travel over long distances to reach the representation of public institutions to request the services offered.

During the celebration of the world post day organised by the IT minister on Novemebr 23, 2018 in Mudzi, Gift Machegete, managing director of Potraz declared that with the shift, post offices would soon become E-government and E-commerce centers.
