First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa's The Angel of Hope Foundation has donated 50 laptops to Rufaro Mission School in Masvingo, in a move that is expected to ensure the school keeps up with technological trends in their learning programmes.
The laptops were handed over during the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe’s conference currently underway in Masvingo.
In a speech read on her behalf by Advocate Tich Muhonde, a member of the Angel of Hope Board of Trustees, the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa said the donation is a response to requests made by the school for assistance in that area.
Amai Mnangagwa said learning has not been immune to the e-government drive that has turned global, where technological advancements have taken precedence.
“I was invited to be part of the women’s conference earlier this year and had an opportunity to converse with my sisters. A request was made to me to assist with computers for the benefit Rufaro Mission High School students and I committed with the confidence of knowing that whatever a mother seeks, she is destined to find,” she said.
The school authorities at Rufaro Mission expressed their gratitude to the First Lady.
“I am happy as the headmaster to receive laptops from our First Lady. This will go a long way in assisting us to implement our new curriculum,” said Mr Jameson Shumbanete, the school head.
