Kazakhstan took the 38th place among 190 world countries in the UN e-Government development rankings leaving behind all Central Asian states, Kazinform has learned from the Kazakh Prime Minister's website http://pm.kz/.

The Government of Kazakhstan pays special attention to the development of e-Government. The state infrastructure of the e-Government was built in the country over a short period of time. The information resources and systems of the state bodies were integrated into a single complex. Presently, the number of certificates issued by the e-Government portal makes 10 million.

The UN highly appraised the development of the e-Government in Kazakhstan. In accordance with the UN annual survey of global readiness for e-Government, Kazakhstan demonstrates steady progress climbing up the world rankings from the 46th to the 38th position in 2011 compared to the 81th place in 2008.

In 2011, Kazakhstan took the 7th place in the Asian region staying ahead of Malaysia (8th place) and Saudi Arabia (9th place). Our country takes the first place among the Central Asian countries.

The index of e-Government development consists of indicators of development of the e-services, telecommunication infrastructure and human capital. In particular, Kazakhstan climbed up from the 24th to the 14th position in terms of the index of e-services development. Russia took the 26th place and Malaysia - 13th place in accordance with this index.
