Kazpost intends to raise additional capital in the form of loans and in the form of increasing the participation of its principal shareholder in order to implement innovative projects.

Kazpost is expanding the range of electronic services as part of its activities in fulfilling proposals announced by the Kazakh President in his state of the nation address. Postmen are already developing such services as e-bills and take active part in the e-government program. Currently, postmen are working intensively with the Public Service Centers. Any citizen of Kazakhstan may submit documents to PSCs and obtain formalized documents through Kazpost or they can hand over the documents in electronic form, and they will be delivered by Kazpost as well.

Askar Kussainov, Deputy Chairman of Board, Kazpost JSC: «Post of the 21st century will be a mix of traditional and new electronic services. It is hybrid post, where some items are delivered electronically and then they are printed out and delivered to the recipient in the traditional way.»

Kazakh postmen see innovations as the main focus of their work. The national company has developed the «Mobile Postman» project to provide up to the mark services. Every postman in the country will soon have mobile computers with Internet access, so the Kazpost employees will be able to offer its customers a range of services at home or in offices. This may include bill payments, performing transactions, and many others.

Askar Kussainov, Deputy Chairman of Board, Kazpost JSC: «We have recently launched Internet banking for legal entities and are now about to complete activities on remote access via the mobile Internet for private individuals. We will announce this product in the near future. We are also developing our card business so as to switch to cashless payments.»

All of Kazpost’s projects are very costly. However, this is a universal practice where innovations cost a great deal. Therefore, Kazpost worked out several plans for their financing. The company is planning to turn to its shareholder, the «Samruk-Kazyna» National Welfare Fund, for financial support. Apart from that, a number of banks are currently considering the possibility of financing certain projects of Kazpost.
