Decisions will be taken in the nearest future about implementation of a number of projects as part of the Year of Information and Communication Technologies.
The statement came from Minister of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov speaking to journalists on Monday.
He said that the main event of this year will be the launch of the first telecommunication satellite of Azerbaijan in the first decade of February.
“In addition, a three-year project ‘Fiber to home’ thanks to which every house in the country will be ensured with broadband internet started in cooperation with the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan this year. SOFAZ is to allocate AZN 140,000,000 for its implementation. That is already in three years of broadband internet development, Azerbaijan will reach the level of the developed countries”, Abbasov said.
The minister also noted that the full shift to digital broadcasting and expansion of the use of E-government portal will be ensured this year.
“With ASAN service, we will raise the quality and the number of e-services provided to the population. In addition, this year we will hold works on creation of the Fund of Development of ICT and Hi-Tech Parks”, he said.
