Five new services are also available on portal E-Government. Services offers a possibility for submission e-applications as follows:
- for registration of copyright;
- for registration of objects of copyright;
- for registration of collections of information protected by copyright;
- for registration of collections of information protected by the right of special protection;
- for state registration of layout designs of integrated circuits.
According to Cabinet’s recently approved Rules on conducting the register of intellectual property objects, in order to ensure the integrity of intellectual property rights the holder must, in paper or electronic form, apply for the inclusion of the subject of his rights in the register of such goods. The appeal is made to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, to prevent passage of pirated and counterfeit goods into the customs territory.
The appeal must provide information on the right holder, product description, as well as data enabling to reveal the fact of counterfeit and pirated goods, some copies of which may be attached to the application. If this data is not confirmed, the applicant commits to pay the damages suffered by the Committee, the owner of the goods, and other interested parties.
