Deputy head of the State Insurance Supervision Service under the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan Mahir Abdullayev informs that the Service has already developed a suitable legal basis for starting e-services.
"The documents have been developed and submitted to the appropriate state agencies for approval. After their approval the Service will start receiving e-applications for obtaining a license for provision of insurance services in the country," Abdullayev said.
He added that the beginning of e-services in the licensing of insurers is planned since the end of 2012.
Service’s head Namig Khalilov informed earlier that first of all e-services will be used in the process of applying for a license for insurance or agent activities to facilitate the work for both insurers and the Service as paper process takes much time.
According to Abdullayev, conclusion of electronic insurance policies in Azerbaijan will start after approval of the amendments to the insurance legislation and the Civil Code.
"These amendments are currently under development - coordination has been carried out, only official confirmation is needed. The amendments will may be included in the agenda of the autumn session of the Parliament of Azerbaijan," Khalilov said.
