The Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan held a meeting on organizing the provision of electronic services of public bodies. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, Cabinet and other government agencies.

Deputy Minister of Communications and IT Iltimas Mammadov noted that the decree signed on May 23 gave a start to a new stage in the formation of e-government. The Deputy Minister noted that the use of e-government makes it easy to review complaints of citizens, promotes transparency in government agencies, the provision of electronic services, the elimination of red tape, etc.

Head of the Department of the Ministry of Information Society Isfandiyar Aliyev and the Director of Information and Computing Center Nail Mardanov spoke on progress and activities.

It was noted that e-government portal connects 26 government agencies. The work continues on the integration of the portal site into the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations, the State Administration of Civil Aviation, the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent, State Committee for Refugees and internally displaced persons, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children, the Committee on Land Reclamation and Water Management, State Committee on Diaspora, Culture and Tourism Ministry, the National Archives Department, Ministry of Industry and Energy, the State Commission on Student Admission, the Central Bank, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mammadov closed the meeting, stressing once more the importance of an ongoing project. He noted the Ministry of Communications and IT would support the project by all means.
