Iran’s Traffic Police has arranged for receiving of fines list of offender drivers through SMS messages upon request.

According to ILNA, relying on planning by the traffic police, the cars owners can thus send the 17 digit code of their vehicles with an IR prefix, in order that they have appeared in the ownership cards of their cars, to phone number 30005151 in order to be informed of their fines list.

The said code that is called a “VIN Code” is only printed on new ownership cards of the vehicles.

Such a fast electronic service is definitely aimed at saving time both for the driers and for the traffic police, in line with the e-government information policies.

The news has still not been officially announced, but keeping in mind the authenticity of the source, it is predicted to be enthusiastically welcomed, particularly in large cities where obtaining such a list takes a whole lot of time.
