As one way of deepening service delivery, government agencies offering online services are set to be recognized at the preliminary NITA e-government excellence awards.
Arnold Mangeni the Director of information security at National Technology Authority (NITA-U) says this event intends to create awareness about services offered.
“The expo will serve to showcase and create awareness what services government is providing online; capture valuable feedback and an uptake in government services”, he says.
The event scheduled for 27th June at Speke Resort Munyonyo, will be held under the theme “Bold Digital Government: Unlocking Service Delivery”.
In line with this, a number of activities have been lined up at the upcoming expo slated to be held on 20th and 21st June.
The function will be held at Garden City rooftop commencing at 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on respective days.
Over 50 government and private entities involved in developing applications, systems and services are expected to showcase smart products.
These include; National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) who carry out free ID registration and Uganda Revenue Authority that will issue free tin registration.
Mangeni says they are working with Ernest and Young to handle adjudication matters.
There are 10 institutions listed in different categories.
