Qatar's e-government has received 2,316 applications from Qatari nationals seeking jobs in the private and joint sectors, an Arabic daily reported yesterday.

Those who apply for jobs through e-government are required to register their names with all relevant personal information at the website addressed www.e.gov.qa. The system will display the available vacancies. The applicant must choose the position suitable for him/her and fill in the application form.

Companies who are seeking hands are also required to provide the relevant details to the e-government. They can choose from the list of job-seekers displayed on the system and fix a date for interview with the candidate on line.

The Ministry of Civil Service Affairs and Housing can recommend a particular candidate to a position which will be shown on the website. However, it is at the discretion of the company to accept or reject the advice, the paper said.
