Transforming Government since 2001

The iHanoi Digital Citizen application not only helps people quickly resolve daily issues, but also contributes to changing the interaction habits between citizens and the government in the digital environment.

A unified point of access for digital citizens.

On the street, if people see construction waste obstructing the road, instead of looking for the responsible agency, they can simply open their phones, take a photo, describe the situation, and send the location directly to the system. With iHanoi, when people need to report a problem, they have a unified point of contact.

Also on this iHanoi platform, with the HanoiCheck miniapp, parents can access menus, meals, and trace the origin of food at their children's schools instead of waiting for unverified information.

Based on the Super App model of "multiple applications, one point of access," iHanoi has integrated diverse utilities serving all aspects of life, such as Smart Police for interaction with the police, HanoiGo for experiential tourism , and mini-apps providing advice on fire safety in electricity management and usage, digital schools, social insurance, and checking exam scores and locations for high school exams.

According to the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, with 263,395 feedback and suggestions received and processed, including 27,689 feedback on administrative procedures and 235,706 on-site reports, iHanoi has been widely chosen by users as a communication channel with the government.

Furthermore, iHanoi helps shorten the application submission time from 2 hours to approximately 15 minutes, saving citizens nearly 500,000 hours. Currently, the application has over 6.6 million verified accounts, averaging about 180,000 visits per day and receiving approximately 25,000 feedback and suggestions each month.

According to information from Cau Giay ward, approximately 1,600 petitions related to issues in the ward were submitted by residents through iHanoi; of which 1,520 have been resolved, demonstrating that iHanoi is a practical bridge between the people and the local government.

Change your interaction habits.

The value of iHanoi lies not in its complex technology, but in creating a centralized feedback channel, which helps to transparently receive and process feedback, thereby creating an additional channel for direct monitoring of government activities. This is also part of the digital transformation effort that will help Hanoi continue to lead the Local Innovation Index in 2026.

Sharing his insights on implementation, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, stated that building a new platform is only the first step. To be able to scale up, digital transformation must first stem from the actual needs of users; a point of access must be accompanied by a clear operational process and defined responsibilities; and data must be updated, standardized, and used effectively.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan stated that digital transformation is not about adding more applications, but about better solving the practical problems of the people. Ultimately, what people appreciate is having their work handled more conveniently, quickly, and simply. This is precisely the value that Hanoi is striving for with iHanoi, gradually transforming the product from an application into a shared digital infrastructure for the capital city.

Thanks to the practical value it brings to the community, the iHanoi application has been continuously honored at major awards in 2026. Within the framework of the Better Choice Awards 2026, the application won first place in the "Innovative Applications to Install" category, ranking first among 11 nominations (surpassing platforms such as AI Hay, TopCV, Lotus Chat, BusMap, and Vnetraffic…) with 44,653 votes from users.

The award organizers stated that iHanoi has brought the digital government of the capital city to every citizen's mobile phone. The value of iHanoi lies not in its complex technology, but in changing the way people interact with the government.

At the Vietnam Digital Awards (VDA) 2026 ceremony held on the afternoon of October 14th, the organizing committee also presented the award in the category of "Outstanding Digital Transformation of a Government Agency" to the iHanoi and HanoiWork ecosystems of the Hanoi People's Committee.

To foster a digital citizen community, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology is continuing to implement applications on a large scale. In the coming time, the authorities will research and design a new UI/UX interface based on the AI First approach, integrate SSO for the iHanoi website, and coordinate the standardization of cultural and tourism data to support the launch of the HanoiGo application, gradually moving all interactions between the government and citizens to the digital environment.
