Lebanon’s National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is working to launch a new interactive website that facilitates the provision of social security services, the NSSF Public Relations Department announced on Tuesday.

Funded with help from the European Union, the project will increase the effectiveness, speed, and ease of doing NSSF-related paperwork and conducting other operations related to social security.

Employers, employees, and the general population in Lebanon will also be able to save themselves the trouble of personally visiting NSSF centers for inquiries regarding their social security status, as this information will be available online on the website when it gets launched.

The team working on the website discussed the latest developments in the project during a meeting headed by NSSF Director-General Mohammad Karaki on Tuesday.

According to the statement, information security was one of the topics discussed during the meeting, as was the timeframe for launching the site, which is 3 months at the latest, “and with that, the fund enters the era of e-government and remote services.”

It is to note that Karaki has repeatedly warned that the crisis Lebanon is going through has been threatening NSSF operations and the benefits that a third of the Lebanese population receives from it.
