It’s good that the interest towards e-residency is high, but an even better outcome would be if many e-residents would choose Estonia as their home and start a business here.
This would create jobs and attract more foreign capital to Estonia, especially since the country’s population has been dwindling.
Unlike party politicians who look only four years ahead, E-residency is a long-term vision and addresses the key issues.’
“If we want to make Estonia wealthier we need more persons, both natural and legal persons,” said Kotka.
Those who expect e-residency project to become Estonia’s next big success story are optimistic realists because e-residency is based on Estonia’s platform of e-services.
The goal of signing up ten million e-residents over ten years is an ambitious target and requires improving Estonia’s business climate.
