According to doctors, the problem is that there are several various documents such as diagnosis, test results, etc. that they need to open and in some cases there are tens or even hundreds of such documents per patient.
Tõnu Peets from the East Tallinn Central Hospital says that the problem is that the IT solutions used for entering and processing data in the system are cumbersome.
Responding to the criticism, Diana Ingerainen from the E-Health foundation said that the work in making the system more user-friendly is ongoing, but said that it is unlikely to he completed before January. The digilugu system was developed by Hewlett-Packard and it cost 1.6 million euros, most of which is funded by the European Social Fund.
