The use of e-government services in the Kingdom increased to 56.7 percent in 2018, compared with 51 percent in 2017, the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) to Al-Eqtisadiah business newspaper.

The commission explained that a survey on the rate of individual use of e-government services revealed that 59.8 percent of citizens used them, while the use by expats hit 51.6 percent. The study was based on a survey that targeted 10,000 citizens and expats living in different parts in the Kingdom. The survey samples were from the age groups of 30-34 years, 35-39 years and 45-49 years.

The usage of e-government services by the age group of 30-34 years was 68.1 percent while for people in the age group of 35-39 years it was 67.3 percent. For the 45-to-49-year age group, it reached 67.2 percent.

The 62 percent of the study samples were Saudi heads of families and 38 percent expat heads of families. The ratio of males in the study was 59 percent.
