The Saudi government will soon launch an e-Government initiative and implement the national information technology plan, the Saudi Gazette reported.
A Saudi official said that these decisions would place Saudi Arabia within the realm of global information technology (IT). An industry official said that the implementation of network security in the Kingdom is important because of an increase in IT-related crimes and breach in Internet security.
The official added that Saudi Arabia is not spared of the alarming global infringement on electronic data.
