Mayor Adil Fakieh has recently launched the "staff electronic gate" which will enable staff of the municipality to communicate with managers and other staff members through the Internet. They can also browse for news and circulars in this site.

"This site represents a qualitative leap in consolidating the electronic work in the municipality. It is within the efforts in the move toward e-government," he said.

The mayor urged the staff to pay attention to the new site and browse it continuously to find whatever news, circulars, and decisions they need to know and look for office papers they might need.

Fakieh described the new site as a "mobile electronic office" for each staff member and said it was aimed at creating an electronic work environment in the municipality.

The organizational structure of the municipality has been uploaded into the new system so that it is easy for every employee to access the staff and function of each department.

Monthly reports about employees will be put on the site in place of the previous reports circulated by paper. Using this site, the employees can inquire about their annual leave, holidays and working hours. They can also raise complaints against their supervisors and can chat with each other.

Through a media center in the site, the staff will know about local and foreign news and can read all the local newspapers.
