Saudi Arabia intends to focus on electronic education as part of its efforts to transform itself into an e-government and further improve the quality and standard of its educational system.

Education Minister Prince Faisal bin Abdullah on Tuesday announced his ministry’s strategic plan to implement the electronic education project.

A 16-member high-level committee has been set up under the chairmanship of Deputy Education Minister Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Sabti to set out the project’s vision, objectives and priorities. “The committee will supervise the project, decide on its strategies and executive plans, formulate its policies, monitor performance and follow up its activities,” said Muhammad Al-Dakheeni, acting spokesman of the ministry.
