The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Madinah is geared up to implement a new e-government system and has arranged several specialized training programs for its members to help them adapt to new computer trends.

The first of its ICDL (the International Computer Driving License) training program was completed on Monday in collaboration with the International Computer Institute.

After the successful completion of the two-month course, 26 commission employees were awarded certificates endorsed by General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training, said Suleiman Al-Tuweijri, director of the commission’s Madinah branch. “This is part of the commission’s efforts to heighten their performance level by increasing their skills in handling advanced equipment,” Al-Tuweijri said.

Another course is scheduled to start next week. The 100-hour course will train commission members in topics such as the basic principles of IT, database management and electronic spreadsheets.
