A leading member of the National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Oheneba Asamoah Atuahene, has advised members of the NDC to register their membership in the biometric system being undertaken by the party.

Such a move, he said, would help members of the party to vote and elect capable leaders who would lead the party to victory in the 2016 elections.

Mr. Oheneba Atuahene, who is also the National Chairman of the NDC Old Guards Association, gave the advice in an interaction with the Daily Graphic in Kumasi recently.

He called on Ghanaians to support the President to prosecute the Better Ghana agenda.

“If the government’s activities are being undermined or sabotaged, its serious ramifications will not only be on President Mahama and the ruling NDC party, but the entire people in the country,” he said.

He said the President must be accorded the honour and dignity he deserved, and congratulated President Mahama on being unanimously elected as Chairman of the ECOWAS.

Furthermore, he advised leaders of the country to relegate their political affiliations to the background and consider the development of the country as critical for everybody’s happiness.

He dismissed as erroneous, the impression being created that once the New Patriotic Party had elected a northerner to lead the party, it would win votes from the northern regions.

He argued that the NDC had a chance as well because, it had a northerner as its presidential candidate.

He also said it was during the reign of former President J.J. Rawlings that electricity was extended to all the three regions in the north and that was another advantage for the NDC.

He said it was also during the same era a university was established in Wa in the Upper West Region and many other development projects were undertaken in the three regions.

He, therefore, pointed out that the NDC had the interest of the three northern regions at heart more than any other political party.
