AKP leader Prime Minister Erdoğan has stated that he classifies nations with internet terminology such as "on-line" and "off-line" and added: "Turkey is a 24 hour on-line country."

Erdoğan has made a speech in his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and started his speech by expressing his condolences to Ecevit's family and the Turkish nation.Prime Minister has indicated that the great change Turkey has been going through since the last four years has begun attracting the world countries.

Erdoğan said: "During the last few years, Istanbul and Ankara have been hosting many international meeting and summits. Now Antalya has become one of these important cities by hosting the general assembly of the International Telecommunication Association yesterday. Since 2002, this conference has been the 3rd big conference held in our lands with the participations of 2500 delegates and more than 100 deputies from 191 international telecommunication member countries. I believe that the decisions taken in this conference will contribute in finding new communications politics and strategies and light the way for new developments in IT and communications studies. 21st century is a century of communication therefore Turkey's position as a host to this conference is of great importance and success for our nation. We perceive this success as a part of our vision; a country which is turning into an IT community and growing rapidly and steadily, a country which has the global competitive power with its e-government and e-transform projects.

World nations have always been classified with different categories. However, after this communication revolution we see that the definitions of weak and strong nations have also changed. Today, countries' armed forces or economical powers do not determine whether they are strong or weak. Today, we classify countries as those who were able to integrate with the global system and those who can't. There are on-line countries and off-line countries. I am really happy to say that with the leaps it performed during the last couple of years, Turkey today is a country which is online 24 hours a day."
