The Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) signed on Thursday a MoU with the Ministry of Education on using IT in educating students in schools.

The special IT network used by the Ministry of Education will be blended with the national IT network to boost the latter in serving the public with online information using the network's high speed capacity, said Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of (CAIT) Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, in a press statement at the signing ceremony.

He said he hoped other ministries would ally their special IT networks with that of CAIT, noting that using IT in education helped students absorb information easier with an added measure of fun.

CAIT Acting Director General Qusai Al-Shatti said linking as many ministries and government agencies to CAIT's comprehensive network will improve immeasurably communication through IT among these ministries and agencies and in turn avail their services to the public speedily and accurately.

It was in 2006 when CAIT was established and entrusted with laying out strategies for implementing e-government and has also been given the task of managing the nation's official government electronic portal.
