At the opening ceremony of an e-government forum, Essa Al-Kandari said that the launch of the country's e-government system coincided with the establishment of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
This initiative stems out of the vitality of information technology in building a modern society that could communicate and interact effectively with similar advanced societies. The initiative also helps facilitate the governmental services for the public.
The minister noted that the ambitious e-government system also helps the country meet its expected strategies in developing vital services such as: education, healthcare, housing as well as developing an advanced infrastructure and diversifying its economy.
Al-Kandari called on various government bodies to seek help of CAIT in drawing up their future policies and strategies to build a unified and comprehensive blueprint of the country's e-government services.
On his part, chief of CAIT Abdulatif Al-Surraye said that the forum will aim at expanding and widening the e-government circle of interest to reach many aspects, including security risks and challenges of implantations.
Al-Surraye noted that the state's official e-gate, has entered its second phase in providing comprehensive services to the public.
