The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Rashid Al-Tabtabaei, said the ministry was the first in Kuwait to provide for its paperwork to be completed via the Internet.

Al-Tabtabaei, who was speaking during a news conference after a reception in honor of civil servants working on the electronic government project, said the ministry's website was linked to the electronic government and the planned Hukuma (Government) Mall.

He stated that the public was now able to complete, via the Internet, all paperwork related to the Commerce Ministry, "without taking the trouble to come to the ministry's headquarters for that." He encouraged the public to take advantage of this opportunity in order to save time and expenses of coming to the ministry headquarters in person for that and to avoid congesting the traffic in and around the ministry.

He praised the efforts being made to complete the Government Mall, specifically by the Ministry's Supervisor of the project, Hamed Al-Ansari.

He said the government was pleased with the way things had turned up in this project.

He added that the Commerce Minsitry's staff in Government Mall were working morning and evening shifts.
