The goal of the two-week visit is study in detail the history, status and development plans for electronic government in Belarus. Korean experts will help form a roadmap for e-government development taking into account the existing advanced technologies and solutions. The delegation has comprised representatives of Samsung SDS, the Korea National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Korea Information Certificate Authority.
The visit of the Korean delegation is held as part of the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Belarus Presidential Aide Vsevolod Yanchevsky to the Republic of Korea in December 2012.
According to the UN estimates, the Republic of Korea is first in the world in terms of e-government advances.
Samsung SDS is one of the largest providers of ICT services and offers its own e-government solutions. In particular, approximately 50% of the works on such system in the Republic of Korea has been done by this company.
Speaking at the workshop, Minister of Communications of Information Technology Nikolai Pantelei noted that Belarus’ infrastructure is good enough to implement projects in the field of information technology. The minister thanked the Korean delegation for visiting Belarus.
The workshop with the participation of Korean and Belarusian experts on the e-government policies, national ICT-infrastructure and technical aspects of e-government promotion is held in Minsk on 19-20 March.
