Eurasia’s first Master’s program “Electronic Government” involving experts from Korea, Austria, Germany and Russia will be launched this year by the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus, BelTA learnt from Rector of the Academy Anatoly Morozevich.

This will be a distant-learning course lasting for 1.5 years. After completing the program graduates will be granted a degree “Master of Public Administration”. The program graduates will specialize in computer engineering and public administration. The program is meant for employees of ministries implementing e-government solutions, company managers responsible for interaction with the government and local authorities, members of regional government agencies who maintain close contacts with the manufacturing sector and the public.

Anatoly Morozevich emphasized that the Academy is making most of the international cooperation opportunities in order to offer high quality education in public management. The Academy and the North-West Institute of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) have reached an agreement on student exchange. A summer school for students is to be arranged together with the Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin and the Lomonosov Moscow State University. A joint research project is implemented with these universities.

The Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus has plans to set up a regional hub to spread expertise and knowledge in the field of civil service. For this purpose the Academy has teamed up with the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Kazakhstan and the Stolypin Volga Region Institute of Administration of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. “We might set up expert platforms on the most topical issues in the field of public administration,” Anatoly Morozevich said.

The Academy is working on the application to take part in the educational project of the Tempus program. The Academy will keep inviting foreign teachers to teach English, Turkish, Chinese and Spanish. “Students of the Academy have always studied a foreign language for three years. When we switched to the four-year program in 2012, we did not cut the foreign language curricula,” the Rector said.

The Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus has 48 partner educational establishments and organizations in 21 countries worldwide.
