The Russian government is stepping up efforts to create an electronic government system which would enable citizens to instantly obtain necessary documentation from all federal, regional and municipal levels.
Prime Minister Putin was speaking about this at a high-level meeting on the matter on Monday.
He said there are 80 million requests for official papers each year, and getting each paper requires up to seven visits to bureaucrats.
The planned system should be in place by next July.
