China’s Huawei Technologies will give Pakistan an equipment worth one million US dollars to support its e-governance initiative.

In a statement issued by Huawei company here, Yafang Sun, Chairperson Board of Directors Huawei Technologies said his company would not only serve telecommunication sector of Pakistan but also strengthen the legendary friendship between the two countries.

With rich experience in e-governance consultation and ICT infrastructure implementation, Huawei will provide one-stop service for e-government construction.

Yafang Sun mentioned her meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari during his ongoing visit to China, terming it successful and pleasant.

She said Huawei Pakistan is the number one telecom E2E solution provider and has more than 1600 employees including 1400 Pakistanis.

Since 2002, Huawei and UET Lahore had established a joint IT centre where over 2000 engineers had completed training in 2007.

Huawei successfully launched a turnkey training centre and Pakistan-based VAS R&D centre. The company signed MoU with Comsats Institutes of Information Technology for setting up a second joint Information Technology Centre with the witness of IT Ministry in 2008.
