Prime Minister Ana Brnabic opened today the first state-of-the-art Data Centre, which houses key information and communication infrastructure important for the efficient functioning of electronic administration and the development of new services for citizens and businesses.

In the premises of the Office for Information Technology and Electronic Administration, Brnabic pointed out that today is a very important day for eGovernment and for all citizens, because we will no longer have a situation in which each individual ministry, each agency, administration will have its own data centres in unsafe conditions, but everything will be able to run centrally.

In this way, we will have millions of savings in the future and we will be able to invest in other things important for the citizens of Serbia, she said and reminded that until now citizens were the only ones who could not pay electronic services provided by the state.

The Prime Minister stressed that she is proud of everything that has been done in the past five months, which gives her the reason for optimism that Serbia will be much faster than it was thought to succeed in recovering and that in a few years will become a leader in the region in terms of electronic administration.

According to Brnabic, in addition to the centralised Office for Information Technology and Electronic Administration, which started working in full capacity, the National Assembly adopted the Law on Electronic Document, Electronic Identification and Trusted Services in Electronic Commerce, which is of great importance for eGovernment.

Also, she added, the Draft Law on eGovernment was completed, while the Ministry of Justice completed the Proposal for the Protection of Personal Data Law, which entered the public hearing on 1 December, which will last until 15 January.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the National Bank of Serbia for its great support in the project for electronic payment, since from now on citizens will be able to pay payment cards with the services provided by the state. Brnabić noted that the domestic payment card "Dina" was also included in this, and at the same time sent a call to all citizens to use as many opportunities as possible.

She expressed expectation that by the end of the year we will have the service "eBanking".

Also, we are working on canceling the seals and on electronic signing and archiving, by team work of "Telekom", ministries and agencies, through the centralised Office for Information Technology and Electronic Administration.
