Leaders of any organisation play a vital and influential role on constituting the work environment, motivating employees and implementing a more efficient management technique to produce a more productive workforce.

Dato Paduka Awang Haji Eusoff Agaki bin Hj Ismail, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, said this during a certificate presentation ceremony for the ninth `Executive Development Programme' on Friday. He also stressed on the importance of acquiring excellent leadership characteristics while adapting various qualities to comply with their stakeholders.

The event held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club was attended by the Director of Public Services and chairperson of the event, Awang Saifon bin Haji Awang Besar.

Over 130 participants comprising heads of department and senior government officers have already been registered in the annual project of the Public Service Department at the Prime Minister's Office with cooperation from the Universiti of Brunei Darussalam since it was introduced in 1996, said Awang Saifon in his welcoming remarks.

This year, the Executive Development Programme held from Jan 1' to May 1 saw at least 17 participants comprising senior officers from various government departments as well as personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Brunei Police Force.
