The government of His Majesty Sultan of Brunei is actively implementing a number of projects towards the realisation of e-Government.

This is being carried out through the development of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructures.

These projects are designed to increase productivity and efficiency in all aspects of developments in the government departments. One of the projects is the PMONet-ICT at the Civil Service Institute in Rimba.

This new infrastructure and the latest ICT facilities will establish the institute as a training agency in the area of management and information technology.

It is also a step towards modernising the management and administration at the institution.

A signing ceremony for contract agreement on the supply, delivery, testing and commissioning of the PMONet-ICT Network Infrastructure was held between the Institute and FalahTek Sendirian Berhad.

Signing on behalf of the institute was Dr Azaharaini bin Haji Mohammad Jamil,its Director, and Mr Tin Wui Min, the General Manager of Falah-Tek Sendirian Berhad.

The signing was witnessed by Awang Haji Ahmad bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister Office, and Awang Haji Muhammad Sabli bin Haji Muhiddin, Director of Falah-Tek Sendirian Berhad.

Under the agreement, the company will provide the institution with Local Area Network (LAN), wireless equipment for VIP Meetings, Seminars and Tele-conferencing for the used of communication, domestically and externally.

Falak Tek will also provide services for the project management, consultancy as well as install of infrastructural networks according to the technical specification required by the government.

The company also provides sixty-six sets of computers complete with channel and security system for training and forty-nine set of computers at every section of the institution.
