The E-Government has for the first time ever joined the TechExpo held at the ICC's Plenary Hall.

The TechExpo was officiated by His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

His Royal Highness visited the E-Government booth and was welcomed by Adi Shamsul Hj Sabli, Director of the E-Government National Centre.

The booth, which carries the theme 'Citizen Centric', displays a variety of services that can be used by the citizens, businesses and government.

On display were the Ministry of Education's e-Hijrah, Multimedia Software for Primary School and Design and Technology, the Business Facilitation Services from the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Brunei Royal Customs and Excise Department's online services called E-Customs, the Civil Service Institute on Innovative Learning, Public Service Commission on SMS for Employment and E-Government National Centre on the One Government Portal.

The exhibits will be on display for four days until November 7. Visitors to the E-Government booth also stand a chance to win some attractive prizes.

The Ministry of Education's `ICT in Education Strategic Blueprint' (IESB) called 'e-Hijrah' is a blueprint and roadmap detailing goals, strategies and projects that will ensure ICT in education supports the transformation of education in Brunei.

The Multimedia Software for Primary School essentially provides students with the availability of Multimedia and Design and Technology - an education module gearing towards ICT literate students.

Business Facilitation Services from the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources is an initiative to provide investors intending to set up an industry in Brunei with fast, efficient and business-friendly services as well as assistance throughout the various stages of business start-up, maturity, growth and expansion of their industrial activities.

The Customs Department's online service called E-Customs is an integrated electronic trade documentation system that will allow the trading community in Brunei to submit applications electronically.

The Civil Service Institute's online learning management system known as 'Innovative Learning' (i-Learn) enables civil officers to enrol in a selection of online courses, training coordinators to register for the potential course candidates, course reports so that training coordinators, the human resource management and civil servants are able to view their units and individual learning developments and course schedules.

E-Government National Centre on the One Government Portal is essentially the one-stop shop for government services that will be accessible through www.gov.bn and readily available by the first quarter of next year.
