Meanwhile, one of the big projects under the e-Government initiatives which will be implemented starting this year is the IT equipment Central Procurement project for Ministries and its departments.

According to the Deputy Permanent Secretary of IT and e-Government at the Prime Minister's Office, Awang Abdul Mutalib as the overall government CIO, the project follows the best practices in other countries that are developed in the field of IT. With such efforts, the supply of IT equipment such as computers and printers will be supplied continuously under the management of e-Government National Centre according to the guidelines and process procedures provided by the EGNC. These efforts are to facilitate and expedite the IT equipment procurement and supply process to every Ministry and its departments.

Apart from that, another on-going effort under the e-Government initiative is the e-Government public survey. Awang Abdul Mutalib also explained that the survey has been carried out by the Prime Minister's Office in collaboration with InfoComm Federation Brunei, IFB through the e-Government National Centre and the private sector at the end of 2009. The results of the survey have been analysed and a number of services to the public have been identified to be given priority as online services. Among them are services in the field of education, business license and start-up applications, payment of utility services such as electricity and water, social services, welfare and sports as well as professional training and recruitment services. Such efforts, according to Awang Abdul Mutalib is useful for the Government in identifying and prioritising the services which will be provided online to fulfill the needs and demands of the public. These efforts also follow the world's best practices and will be extended to the e-Government Citizen Satisfaction survey to be conducted at the end of each year.
