The three-day International Conference on e-Government and Administrative simplication ended today. Speaking at the closing session, the Acting Director of the National E-government Centre, Dayang Hajah Mariah Hj Mohd Taha said the future government services may depend on mobile phones as they have better penetration in the public.

In an interview, Dayang Hajah Mariah stated that re-organization and improvement of the public organizations, human capacity building and how to measure performance of e-Government project is undeniably significant to make a government successful. She added one of the top priorities shown from a recent survey done by the National E-government Centre will be putting more services online for the ease of the public.

On the other hand, the Director of Public Governance Programme of OECD Korea Policy Centre, KIM Heon-Jun believes that a country can develop from exchanging ideas, experiences and practices as knowledge is power to implementation.

Earlier there was a panel discussion entitled "ICT, New Growth Engine for Next Generation?" whereby most panelists agreed that it is an easy tendency for centralization of administrative power in central government. Knowledge cannot just be for the privileged group anymore, in order to move forward.
