Twenty-seven participants comprising senior government officers left for Singapore yesterday for the five-day study mission. According to a press release from the Singapore High Commission, the Bruneian officers will be briefed by the relevant Singapore agencies on various topics such as the changing landscape in education and healthcare, e-Government, human resource management within the public service, public-private partnership, urban planning and development, environmental protection and sustainable development, and new strategies to cope with an ageing population.
he Majlis Ugama Islama Singapura will also brief the visitors on their work in promoting welfare among the Muslims in Singapore. Commenting on the visit, Singapore High Commissioner Mr Joseph K H Koh said the issues faced by public sector managers in the two countries may be different in character and complexion, and therefore call for policy responses unique to each country.
"Nevertheless, both public services share a common interest in nurturing a culture of anticipation and innovation, and cultivating a nimble mindset responsive to an increasingly complex environment," the Singapore High Commission said in the statement.
