Launched in conjunction with the e-Government Strategic Plan 2009-2014, the key objective of the survey is to seek feedback from citizens to further improve the government services provided to the people (”Rakyat”) by providing a multiple channel of delivery to citizens.
Its also seeks citizens participation in identifying which government services are most important and needs to be made available online.
In doing so, a government citizen survey roadshow was held at the Mall, Gadong where the Labour Department and the National Registration and Immigration department approached patrons to fill in the survey either through online on www.egovcitizensurvey2009.gov.bn or on a conventional survey forms.
To further entice the public’s participation, people who took part in the survey could enter a lucky draw where winners can stand a chance to win fabulous prizes such as Lenovo Ideapad s10 Notebook for the first prize, Canon Ixus 860is for the second prize and a night stay at Palm Hotel for third prize.
During an interview with the bulletin, the first roadshow held on December 4 received very encouraging responses where about 200 people participated in the survey.
The next roadshow will be held on December 8 at The Mall, Gadong, Post Office (Mall Processing Centre) and Land Transport Department.
The results from the survey will be presented to the Prime Minister’s Office early next year.
