The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation (YSHHB) successfully launched their new website yesterday, answering the calls made by the E-Government strategic plan 2009-2014, with a view to providing accessibility and information on YSHHB's initiatives.

Launched by Minister of Communications Pehin Orang Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Hj Abu Bakar Hj Apong, as Chairman of the YSHHB Board of Directors, the new website is far more informative and in-depth, which includes several specific areas, according to the foundation's Managing Director Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim Hj Daud. "Websites are one of the most effective mechanisms of disseminating information, quickly and easily, to the entire community," said Dab Hj Ali Hashim.

He added that in a bid to move with the expansion of information communication technology (ICT), the foundation has taken up the initiative to revamp its existing website that has various portals to information of interest to the public.

Among them is a new photo gallery which holds photos of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and his family's involvement with the projects and activities of the foundation; an e-Magazine section which showcases the official publication of YSHHB entitled Wadah e-borang (e-form), which is aimed at facilitating the registration processes for certain YSHHB projects; and a specific online information and enquiry form that allows direct communication between the public and the foundation.

The managing director also stressed that the new website will provide "information that is accurate, reliable and up-to-date information which can be easily accessed", in line with the calls made by the E-Government 2009-2014 Strategic Plan.

It is widely expected that through the website the public will benefit and kept abreast of the information and initiatives carried out by YSHHB.
