Through this "single window" provided by the Fisheries Department, fisheries entrepreneurs, both local and foreign investors and the public can access services easily, facilitate their investments and the running of their businesses that can benefit the country, said MIPR's Permanent Secretary, Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid Hj Mohd Jaafar.
This will allow users to have access to such details anytime, save time by avoiding long queues and conduct their business in the comfort of their homes without additional costs, said the permanent secretary.
Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid added the eFisheries service, valued at $248,000, is hoped to facilitate the Department's Fisheries vision of a 'Sustainable and Competitive Fisheries Contributing Towards A Diversified Economy' through enabling fisheries ventures by both local and foreign investors.
He noted further that the project under MIPR's eGovernment initiatives is an effort by the ministry to heed His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's titah to make 2007 as the year to improve the quality and delivery of public service.In addition to the eFisheries venture, an eMIPR Business Help Centre has also been set up at the MIPR's Industry and Trade Information Centre, as well as in business centres in all departments nation-wide under the ministry, where IT assistant officers will be available to assist entrepreneurs and the public.
The ministry had recently launched its online business facilitation service, eMIPR, as previously reported by The Brunei Times.
Accessible through www.bruneimipr.gov.bn, the single window service provides provides easy access to the services of the ministry and allows foreign investors the convenience of applying for business licences online.
