As part of the e-Government drive, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is placing e-Islam Information Kiosks at 18 strategic locations around the country.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs is organising a roadshow at those locations to create awareness of the e-Islam Information Kiosks.

The event commenced with the presentation of the kiosks yesterday to location representatives, at Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kg Kiarong. Kiosks have also been placed at the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and some locations in Brunei-Muara Districts.

On hand to present the kiosks 'to the representatives of locations was Awang Haji Ismail bin Haji Abdul Manaf, Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The roadshow, among others, is aimed at disseminating information on daily life among the Muslim community, including activities related to mosque affairs, Islamic propagation, Haj and many others using the easy and innovative ICT medium.

Apart from disseminating information on Islam quickly and effectively, the kiosks are also aimed at enhancing the Islamic knowledge of the users as well as exposing them to ICT usage in the dissemination of Islamic knowledge.

The kiosks will be located in 18 locations including the two State's mosques, namely, Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque in the capital and Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kg Kiarong as well as major mosques in all the four districts, namely, Mohammad Bolkiah Mosque in Kg Serusop, AlAmeerah AI-Hajjah Maryam Mosque in Kg Jerudong, Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kg Sengkurong, Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Mosque in Lambak, Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara, Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong, Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Temburong, Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque Kuala Belait and Pekan Seria Mosque in Seria.

The kiosk will also be located at government premises, namely, Brunei International Airport, Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital and public places, namely, the Yayasan Shopping Complex in the capital and The Mall in Gadong.
